Nazarbayev University School of Medicine, established in 2015, has been developed in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and offers a US-style curriculum taught in English. Our mission is to educate a new generation of clinically skilled and research-focused physicians prepared for leadership positions in research, education, and clinical care to improve the health of individuals in Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and around the world.
Job Description:
1. To help in conducting laboratory sessions of the School of Medicine;
2. To keep and maintain laboratory equipment in good condition;
3. To prepare plans of practical and laboratory classes in accordance with the instructions of the faculty members and the available equipment and reagents;
4. To ensure following of the safety rules in laboratories;
5. To brief on the safe and proper use of equipment;
6. To analyze the need for laboratory equipment, consumables, reagents on the basis of costs;
7. To process applications for purchasing the laboratory equipment, consumables and reagents;
8. To maintain adequate inventory;
9. To assist in course-related activities as assigned by the Department Chair/ Dean.
Qualifications:
Bachelor/Master's degree in the following fields: Medicine, Biomedicine, Genetics, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry or other fields related to the position.
Excellent knowledge of safety basics during the work on laboratory equipment.
Required competencies:
1. Communication and organizational skills;
2. Good analytical and critical thinking skills;
3. Team-work and independent work skills;
4. Problem-solving ability;
5. Fluent in English, Kazakh and Russian (written and oral);
6. Advanced MS Office experience.
